Refund Policy

Guinness Press does not charge authors, co-authors, or their institutions any fees at any stage of the publication process. There are no submission fees, peer review fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees of any kind.

This policy applies to all ten peer-reviewed journals in the Guinness Press portfolio, regardless of article type, article length, or the author's institutional affiliation or country of origin.

Because Guinness Press does not collect payments from authors, there are no circumstances in which a refund to an author is applicable.

As no financial transactions take place between Guinness Press and submitting authors, there is nothing to refund. If you have received a request for payment purporting to come from Guinness Press, please treat it as fraudulent and report it to us immediately at editorial@guinnesspress.com.

Guinness Press will never request payment from authors before, during, or after the publication process.

Guinness Press is an independent publisher committed to the principle that access to knowledge should be free both for readers and for authors. Our operating model does not rely on author fees.

We believe that levying article processing charges creates a barrier to participation for researchers at under-resourced institutions, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Our fee-free model ensures that the quality of a researcher's work not their funding determines whether it is published.

In some cases, authors may incur costs through third parties that are independent of Guinness Press for example, fees paid to professional editing services, translation services, or statistical consultants used to prepare a manuscript before submission.

Guinness Press is not responsible for and cannot process refunds for any payments made to third-party services. Authors should direct any payment disputes relating to third-party providers to those providers directly.

All articles published in Guinness Press journals are made freely available to readers worldwide immediately upon publication, without embargo or access restrictions. We do not operate a hybrid or subscription-based model for any of our journals.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0), allowing anyone to read, download, share, and build upon published research freely, provided the original source is credited.
